About the Role
We are looking for a draftsperson with a few years' experience or a fresh graduate student in the workforce to join the team. The successful candidate will be a good communicator, be able to multi-task to meet deadlines and confidently prepare working drawings using AutoCAD and ARHICAD software for both steel and timber structure projects.
You will produce technical drawings to enable the approval and build of Patios, Verandahs and Decking structures and will also assist the site supervisor and complete administrative functions. You will be provided a comprehensive induction into the role by our senior engineer/draftsperson. You must be a team player and someone who will use their initiative to get the job done to meet deadlines and budget.
About You
To be successful in this role, an understanding of the Victorian Building regulations, the building process and the NCC/ Timber Framing CODE AS1684.2 is required. You will be responsible for drafting, regulation assessment, council approvals, costing and ordering.
You will confidently interpret construction plans and prepare engineering reports and domestic building contracts.
Tasks and Duties:
Create 3D plans for clients
Draft plans and prepare submission to council
Generate costings; cost of materials, labour, council/insurance costs
Site inspections as required
Monitor the installation processes & installation schedules
Customer communication on project progression
Project Manage all multi product orders to ensure smooth installation process
Liaise with council throughout the approval process
Prepare departmental COGS reports
Review Past Weeks installs, current installs, forecast installs and WIP
Cost estimation
Material Take Off (Calculations) Timber and Steel
