Unity Asian Supermarket Retail Assistant Ad

Dear Applicants,

For our Baulkham Hills store, we are looking to hire Type 1 and Type 2 applicants. For our Darling Harbour store, due to the differing nature of the business, the retail assistant role is General Retail Assistant which is Type 1 and Type 2 combined.



We are mainly looking to hire the following:
Type 1: Cashier-based Retail Assistant

Type 2: Shelf-stocker based Retail Assistant



Main Duties:

Type 1:

- Assist customers transactions and inquiries in a timely manner

- Sort through and manage stock daily

- Assist in reception of deliveries

- Check sales and inventory levels to efficiently and accurately place orders

- Complete ad-hoc tasks allocated by the manager on duty



Type 2:

- Manage inventory levels by checking storage areas and promptly recording adjustments

- Refill existing stock on shelf in a tidy and timely manner to maximise convenience for customers

- Place new stock on shelf in a logical and prompt manner to make sure products become available for sale as soon as possible

- Receive, count, check expiry dates and sign-off on deliveries

- Complete ad-hoc tasks allocated by the manager on duty



Due to the higher physical intensity of the Type 2 role, the wage for this role is higher.



Work Hours:

Work hours for our Baulkham Hills store:

Type 1 (can vary on a weekly basis):

Monday-Wednesday, Friday: 9:00am-7:30pm

Thursday: 9:00am-8:45pm

Weekends: 9:00am-7:00pm



Type 2 (can vary on a weekly basis):

Monday-Wednesday, Friday: 9:00am-7:30pm

Thursday: 9:00am-8:45pm

Weekends: 9:00am-7:00pm



Work hours for our Darling Harbour store:

General Retail Assistant (can vary on a weekly basis):

Monday-Thursday 10:30am-9:30pm

Friday-Saturday 10:30am-9:45pm

Sunday 10:30am-9:30pm



Working Environment:

We are located in a medium sized shopping centre for both our Baulkham Hills and Darling Harbour store so the working environment is relatively more comfortable than supermarkets on the streets.



Transportation:

For our Baulkham Hills store, outside the shopping centre, there are buses running to City and Parramatta on a regular basis.



For our Darling Harbour store, it is a 5 to 10 minutes walk to Townhall Station and a 10 to 15 minutes walk to Central Station.



Language Requirements:

Due to the nature of our business mainly consisting of products from Japan, Korea and China, we require a proficient level in ONE of the following languages in addition to English:

Chinese, Korean, Japanese


Character Requirements:

We look for individuals who are motivated, passionate, willing to learn and friendly to customers. We look for individuals who like to challenge themselves by constantly engaging with ways to improve the business to further sales. We absolutely do not want applicants who cannot refrain from playing on their phones during work hours.
